The Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs Avni Yildrim is going ahead with the backing of the WBC.
How this fight effects the court proceedings that have been put in place by Alvarez against DAZN, Golden Boy Promotions and Oscar De La Hoya is unknown as of yet but the fight now is headed to a September 21st purse bid.
As reported prior, the general consensus is that Yildrim (21-2, 12 KO’s) is not a satisfactory PPV opponent for Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KO’s). With that said, rumours have been circulating that Oscar De La Hoya’s name had been proposed as one of his possible opponents.
I think we can safely say that Yildrim will be the better challenger. Good grief.
