Shot of The Day – Ken Norton

Whilst looking through some classic fights today, I decided to watch in full Ken Norton vs Larry Holmes from June 9th, 1978. And what a fight it was.

I remembered that Norton passed away around this time of the year. I checked and it was September 18th (2013).

With this in mind I searched for a picture that showed off how he looked in his prime and the above picture to me shows just that. Whilst there are images that show him more as a tremendous physical specimen (he had that Evander Holyfield type of physique) you can’t beat a picture of someone smiling.

That is my justification for this shot of the day. Remembering Ken Norton who died seven years ago aged seventy.
