Spotlight on: Sébastien Pitois of RBO Boxing
Sébastien Pitois is a boxing agent and former amateur boxer who was born on June 26, 1973 in Compiègne, department of Oise, but it was in Bethisy Saint-Martin that Sébastien grew up, the village where his mother was born. His siblings are made up of two brothers for whom Sébastien has great respect. Sébastien’s dad was a manager in a slaughterhouse and his mom worked as a factory worker. Due to the professional obligations of Sébastien’s parents, those are the grandparents who took care of the children.
The family universe predisposed Sébastien to love, even passion for boxing, in fact Sébastien’s grandfather, a fervent sportsman, had a predilection especially for football and Boxing he frequented the boxing hall of the Citadel in Laon or he was training with his great friend, Gilbert Lavoine (Nicknamed the bludgeon of Laon, Gilbert Lavoine was in the 1950s French champion and European welterweight champion then French middleweight champion). This universe and the stories about boxing and Gilbert Lavoine that his grandfather told him formed young Sébastien in this very special world of boxing.
Apart from his grandfather, his uncles were also fervent boxing enthusiasts and amateur boxers themselves, especially Pierre Dumont who met as amateurs François Pavilla a boxer who came straight from Martinique. The years go by and Sébastien continues to follow his schooling, the young Sébastien therefore goes to the village primary school and there he meets a young schoolgirl who will become his school friend and she reveals to him during from a conversation of children that his uncle is a boxer, to this only qualifier of “Boxer” Sébastien reacts and shows his friend his passion and his love for the Noble Art. When she saw that her young friend was interested, she asked her if he would like to see her uncle’s next fight in this case Farid Benredjeb, Sebastien replied that he would be very happy. So it was in 1983 that Sébastien assisted, through his classmate, in the fight of Farid Benredjeb in Compiègne against Jean-Luc Lesourd, a fight that Farid won by KO. It was from this moment that Sébastien followed all the fights of Farid Benredjeb and that a great friendship was born and continues to this day.
Then comes the time of military service in Soissons in 1992 Sébastien has once again an appointment with the Noble Art, in fact his staff sergeant was a former boxer, discussions on boxing were not lacking. After completing his military service, he headed for the boxing hall at the Crépy en Valois boxing club, which was run at the time by the late Claude Commère. From time to time we may come across a certain Laurent Grimbert in the hall, Sébastien training with boxers such as Xavier Delafontaine, Pascal Néodo, Nassim Yahiaoui.
Sébastien had some amateur fights with, among others, Franck Monneveux, and following an elbow injury he had to interrupt his pugilistic activity to his great regret. It is from there that Claude Commère (70 years old) offers him to assist him in the management of the club, Sébastien accepts and for two years he also trains boxers, then for the sake of evolution and in the spirit of ” entrepreneur who still drives Sébastien he went to sparring at Jacques Vasset in Compiègne for three years then in parallel he was contacted by several sites for the writing of articles concerning former boxers for two years with seriousness and involvement he carried out his editor’s job.
His notoriety crossing the borders Sébastien is contacted by various personalities from the world of boxing abroad, and who offer him a place in different Federations what he has always refused Sébastien is what we call a man of the field the work bureaucracy cannot suit a man of action. A friend tells him that we are looking for a person at the UBO (Universal Boxing Organization) he accepts this mission in which he has deployed his experience, his know-how and his seriousness for four years, then he decides to create his own federation of boxing the Royale Boxing Organization which it develops internationally and which is expanding in various countries. On the strength of his success Sébastien has moreover and twice obtained the Gant D’Or d’Afrique in Tunisia and obtained a special price at U.B.O for the work accomplished with seriousness and application as supervisor and development.
For my part, the realization of this biography was a real pleasure to pay homage to a man of the seraglio, honest, serious and applied deserved that I linger there for Boxe Time from yesterday to today. Mark.
