UBO World Super Featherweight Champion Giovannie Gonzalez (Pictured) stays busy when he fights a non-title rematch against undefeated Mexican Brandon Cortez on August 26 in his home-town of Stockton, California.
“King Gio” Gonzalez (14-6-1, 12 KOs) and Cortez (7-0-2, 6 KOs) fought to a draw in their original encounter back in September of 2020. Gonzalez has since registered four victories, while Cortez has gone 2-0-1 in the meantime.
UBO International Welterweight Champion Dmytro Zubko improved his unblemished record to 7-0 (4) when he defeated Enes Refik Ciftci (6-1, 4 KOs) by unanimous decision after eight rounds of non-title action on June 29 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian won the UBO title last December, stopping Achiko Odikadze in four.
Former UBO International Light Heavyweight Champion Jozef Jurko from Slovakia is set to fight on the biggest stage of his career.
It’s been announced that Jurko (9-6-1, 6 KOs) will be part of the massive Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua rematch undercard on August 20 at the Jeddah Superdome in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Jurko, who won the UBO title in July of 2021 when he stopped Stanislav Eschner in the Czech Republic, will take on undefeated Ukrainian Daniel Lapin (5-0).
Another former UBO International titlist, Middleweight Marc Dube, scored a first round stoppage of Georgian Nikoloz Berkatsashvili on July 16 in Cloppenburg, Germany.
Dube (32), UBO Champion in 2019, improved his professional record to 14-0 (12).
