Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Tagoe has signed a co-promotional deal with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment – and he is ready to cause a major upset.

Tagoe heads to Texas on Saturday night to face the returning Ryan Garcia, one of the unbeaten stars of a lightweight division brimming with talent.

A former IBO title holder, Tagoe will start as an underdog but ‘The Gameboy’ – widely considered one of the top 10 fighters at 135lbs – cares little about the odds and the man from the proud boxing city of Accra is in a “dangerous” mood.

Garcia is being groomed as the heir to the lightweight throne, but Tagoe is refusing to kneel to ‘King Ry’.

“Nobody is expecting me to win this fight but mark my words; there is an upset on the cards in San Antonio this weekend,” declared Emmanuel Tagoe (32-1, 15KO).

“I respect Garcia’s ability but he’s accepted a challenge against one of the best fighters in the 135lbs division and, let me tell you, it’s a whole different ball game at this level.

“Saturday night will mark the second stage of my career and with the backing of Probellum and DiBella Entertainment, I am determined to show the world what Ghanaian fighters are all about.”

Joe Ward has been told the next 12 months are “crucial” after he signed a co-promotional deal with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment.

The 28-year-old is ready to give his professional career a major shot in the arm having fought just seven times since 2019, mainly due to a “devastating” knee injury suffered on his professional debut.

Ward is one of the most decorated amateurs in Irish history, winning three gold medals at European Amateur Championships, as well as two silvers and a bronze at World Amateur Championships.

The light-heavyweight also boxed for his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics but Ward is determined to make up for lost time and transfer his incredible international amateur pedigree to the pro ranks.

“I’m excited to be working with Probellum, I think with their global reach they are a great addition to my team,” said ‘Mighty’ Joe Ward (6-1).

“Lou DiBella has done a great job building my career in the US but I believe that Probellum will really help to build my name internationally. I’m looking forward to a bright future, with a strong team behind me.”

“By the end of the year he will be doing 10 rounders, moving up the rankings and fighting high level contenders.”

Ward joins Probellum ahead of back-to-back shows in Dubai this week, which feature Irish fight favourites Jono Carroll, Tyrone McKenna, TJ Doheny and Rohan Date.

Fans in Ireland can watch the world championship cards on Friday and Saturday on Eurosport TV’s liner channels discovery+ and Eurosport App.

Viewers in North America can watch the shows on fuboTV while ESPN KO will broadcast the fights for their South American audience.

Olympic gold medallist and unbeaten professional heavyweight Bakhodir Jalolov has signed a co-promotional deal with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment.

The 27-year-old took gold at Tokyo 2020 but the giant from Uzbekistan is now focused on landing world titles in the professional ranks.

Jalolov has a perfect 9-0 record and has stopped every single one of his opponents to deliver a vicious warning shot to the rest of the heavyweight division.

Standing at a massive 6’7”, the huge punching Jalolov – known as the ‘Big Uzbek’ – fights Kamil Sokolowski over eight rounds on March 18 in Dubai as part of Probellum Evolution, a double-header of world championship boxing.

But given Jalolov’s frightening 100% KO ratio, his next contest is not expected to go the distance.

“Everyone in the heavyweight division knows all about me and, deep down, they know it is only a matter of time before I take over,” declared Bakhodir Jalolov.

“With Probellum and DiBella Entertainment promoting me, I will become world heavyweight champion as soon as is possible but, first, I must take care of business against Sokolowski on March 18 in Dubai.

“After that, news will start to spread about Bakhodir Jalolov and the world will soon realise that I am a world heavyweight champion in waiting.”

“Bakhodir Jalolov is a giant of a man and this is a giant signing for Probellum,” said Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum.

“Jalolov combines top-level amateur pedigree, phenomenal movement for man of his size and knockout power. He is destined to become world heavyweight champion and working with DiBella Entertainment, Probellum will be delivering those opportunities for him.”

“There is no upcoming young heavyweight in the world who possesses the physical advantages and skillset of the Big Uzbek. Power, speed and amazing agility for a giant are the attributes that will allow Bakhodir to rise quickly,” said Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment.

“He will fight for the second time in Dubai on March 18 before a big television exposure in the U.S. in June. The sky is the limit for the Big Uzbek.”

“We are looking forward to a prosperous partnership with Probellum on Bakhodir’s career,” said Vadim Kornilov, Jalolov’s manager.

“We believe that he is currently the biggest young prospect in the heavyweight division and our team will work hard to take him to the Championship level.”

Jalolov scored a shuddering 46 second knockout of Julio Cesar Calimeno in December when he fought on Probellum’s debut show in Dubai and the the Uzbek puncher is back in the UAE on March 18 as part of Probellum Evolution, which will be shown live on Eurosport’s linear channels, discovery+ and Eurosport App to millions of homes across 62 markets and territories in Europe and the Indian sub-continent.

Probellum has signed a landmark, multi-fight deal with Discovery Sports, starting with the back-to-back shows in Dubai, where Jalolov features.

Multi-weight world champion and female boxing pioneer Hanna Gabriels has signed a co-promotional deal with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment.

The reigning light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion of the world from Costa Rica has been a professional since 2007 and is widely recognised as one of the leading flag bearers for women’s boxing.

Gabriels (21-2-1, 12KO) is the latest high-profile female fighter to join the Probellum ranks, following the signings of world lightweight champion Estelle Mossely and bantamweight title holder, Dina Thorslund.

Probellum, a global boxing and media company that launched in September last year, wants to open the sport up to a worldwide audience by signing the best fighters and partnering with the best co-promotional partners, and Gabriels’ signing comes off the back of Probellum’s agreement with 3MG Boxing, the leading promoter in her homeland of Costa Rica.

“I have been a professional fighter for almost 15 years, and I won titles at many different weights, but you have not seen the best of me yet,” declared Hanna Gabriels, whose nickname is ‘La Amazona Black’.

“With Probellum behind me, supporting the work of DiBella Entertainment and my manager Hector Fernandez, I can establish myself as one of the greatest female boxers to have ever lived and use my platform to continue empowering women through sport.

“I’m going to unify my division then I’m coming down to 168, after unifying there I’m coming down to 160 lbs – and I want them all.

“Claressa, Cecilia and Savannah Marshall, see you all very soon. My team is complete and it’s the best one.”

“Hanna Gabriels has been one of the best female fighters in the world for over a decade,” said Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment.

“She is the only woman ever to drop the great Claressa Shields and with her extraordinary skillset it is no surprise that Hanna is the female light heavyweight/heavyweight champion of the world.

“She is back after battling Covid and taking care of her daughter during the pandemic but with the help of Probellum and manager Hector Fernandez, we’re confident that the next two years will be the biggest years of her career – and we hope to be able to announce her next bout very soon.”

Probellum is thrilled to announce a major strategic partnership with Boxing Hall of Fame promoter Lou DiBella and his company DiBella Entertainment.

The strategic partnership will see Probellum, a global promotion and media company that launched last year, and the legendary DiBella collaborate on a number of fronts in a bid to further their shared vision of advancing the sport of boxing.

This will include co-promotional activities around key fighters in the DiBella Entertainment stable, support for grassroots boxing in the United States, and the continued growth of Probellum’s international network of co-promotional partners.

“Today is a landmark day for Probellum. I am delighted to be able to formally announce our strategic partnership deal with the great Lou DiBella,” said Richard Schaefer, President of Probellum.

“Lou and I have known and worked together for many years and his influence and reputation in boxing needs little explanation.

DiBella was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2020 after decades of being one of the most influential figures in boxing, including being the driving force of HBO’s boxing coverage for 11 years as the network’s Senior Vice President in Charge of Programming.

In the role, DiBella was the man behind the widely acclaimed Boxing After Dark series before going on to launch DiBella Entertainment and becoming one of boxing’s most important promoters, guiding the careers of a hugely impressive list of world champions, which includes Bernard Hopkins, Sergio Martinez and Jermain Taylor.

Probellum was founded in September 2021 and has become the fastest-growing brand in the sport, making its intentions clear with a raft of top-level fighter signings including Nonito Donaire, Regis Prograis, Estelle Mossely and Donnie Nietes and multiple co-promotional deals across the globe.

Star Boxing, in association with DiBella Entertainment, announced last week the co-promotional signing of undefeated Italian IBO Super Featherweight World Champion MICHAEL “LONE WOLF” MAGNESI (Cave, Lazio, Italy, 19-0, 11KO’s). Magnesi will make his anticipated US debut on November 11 at The Paramount, in Huntington, Long Island, NY, headlining “Rockin’ Fights 40” against EUGENE LAGOS (Bukidnon, Philippines, 16-5-3, 11KO’s).

Tickets for “Rockin’ Fights 40”, are on sale now and can be purchased HERE. The Paramount is located at 370 New York Ave, Huntington, NY 11743. Doors will open on the night of the event at 7:00pm ET.

Featured on the undercard will be Bellport, Long Island’s 2013 New York Golden Gloves champion, undefeated super lightweight ALEX “EL TORO” VARGAS (11-0, 4KO’S), promoted by Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing. Vargas will be making his eighth appearance at The Paramount. Vargas brings the action as a skillful boxer who is not afraid to mix it up when he needs to – much to the delight of his growing fan base. Vargas, who has been on a tear since making is pro debut in 2018, continues to impress every time out. Vargas is scheduled for a 6-round super lightweight bout against an opponent to be named soon.

Also featured is decorated Irish amateur, light heavyweight “MIGHTY” JOE WARD (Westmeath, Ireland, 4-1, 2KO’s) Ward’s renowned amateur career speaks for itself, racking up the medals, winning gold at the European Championships in 2011, 2015 and 2017, silver at the World Championships in 2015 and 2017, and representing Ireland at the 2016 Olympic Games. In his professional debut against Marco Delgado, Ward fell victim to a freak accident, dislocating his kneecap in the second round causing him unable to continue. Since then, Ward has rallied four consecutive wins, including a revenge win in a rematch against Delgado on March 18, 2021. Ward will take on Brazilian LEANDRO “BUSCAPE” SILVA (Woburn, MA, 3-4, 2KO’s) over a 6-round light heavyweight scrap. Ward is promoted by DiBella Entertainment and managed by Times Square Boxing Co.

A highly anticipated grudge match has captured a lot of local attention as Bronx native LOUIS “IL MARTELLO” MAIETTA (0-0-1) returns against his newly crowned nemesis PEREZ AUGHTRY (Cheektowaga, NY 0-2-1) after their first meeting was scored a draw at “Rockin’ Fights 39” in September. This entertaining rematch will be over 4-rounds in the light heavyweight division.

Undefeated Italian Canadian AMANDA “BAMBOLA” GALLE (4-0) will square off against Haitian JAICA PAVILUS (Manhattan, NY, 1-3-1, 1KO) over a 6-round super bantamweight contest. Galle, a three-time Canadian National champion and four-time Ringside National champion as an amateur, captured the Canadian Women’s Super Bantamweight title in January of 2020. Galle is co-promoted by DiBella Entertainment and Lee Baxter Promotions

Brooklyn-based Lebanese super middleweight NADIM SALLOUM (5-1, 3KO’s) will make his second appearance at The Paramount, where he suffered his lone defeat in February of 2020. He has since rebounded with four straight wins, most recently scoring a fourth-round stoppage on October 8, 2021. Salloum will face an opponent to be named in a six-round bout.

Finally, Queens super middleweight ISAAH “ZAY” FLAHERTY (2-0, 1KO) and Brentwood Long Island’s super lightweight PRINCE SLAUGHTER (1-0, 1KO) will be in respective 4-round contests with opponents to be named soon.

Star Boxing’s Rockin’ Fights 40, in association with DiBella Entertainment, will feature an undefeated and reigning World Champion in the main event on November 11, 2021.

Making his United States debut, undefeated IBO Super Featherweight World Champion MICHAEL “LONE WOLF” MAGNESI (Lazio, Italy, 19-0, 11 KO’s) will face off against EUGENE “RAMBO” LAGOS (Bukidnon, Philippines, 16-5-3, 11 KO’s) in a 10-round non-title match.

Magnesi crosses the Atlantic for the first time, having recently forged an exclusive co-promotional agreement with New York Boxing Hall of Fame Promoters, JOE DEGUARDIA, of Star Boxing, and LOU DIBELLA, of DiBella Entertainment. With the powerful New York Italian duo of DeGuardia and DiBella, the Italian Champion is poised to become a New York sensation.

Tickets for “Rockin’ Fights 40” are on sale now. The Paramount is located at 370 New York Ave, Huntington, NY 11743. Doors will open on the night of the event at 7:00pm ET.
