Muhammad Waseem, Ohara Davies & Rocky Fielding win at the weekend
There were impressive wins for Muhammad Waseem, Ohara Davies and Rocky Fielding as they all competed in Dubai on Friday.
The three fighters were in action on the D4G Promotions event at MotoSpace, which was broadcast on ESPN+ in the USA in association with Top Rank, on ESPN Knockout in Latin America, and on IFL TV for the rest of the world.
Waseem (12-1, 8 KOs) was involved in a fight of the year candidate, as he had a back and forth war with Rober Barrera (23-4, 13 KOs) for the WBC Silver flyweight title – with the fight also serving as an eliminator for the WBA flyweight title.
After 12 non-stop rounds of action, the three judges scored the bout 115-113, 115-114 and 117-111, handing Waseem a fantastic victory.
Elsewhere on the card, Davies (23-2, 16 KOs) claimed a comfortable points win over Nicholas Mwangi (10-4-1, 7 KOs), with all three judges scoring it 99-91, while Rocky Fielding (29-2, 16 KOs) returned after two years out, earning a second round retirement win over Emmanuel Danso (32-7, 26 KOs).
