Fight Notes: In round 1, Martinez was down and badly cut. Martinez was warned for hitting Warrington after the bell.
Round 2 saw a relentless Warrington continue from where he left off but was warned by the referee for illegal use of the head.
Round 3 saw Martinez coming forward with Warrington calm and calculated. The cut was bothering Martinez’s vision.
Round 4 and it is now more competitive between the two combatants. Martinez is now cut over both eyes.
Round 5 is more even with both landing. Martinez’s face is now a mess.
Round 6 and it’s Martinez on the front foot but is walking onto shots. There is concern from the Martinez corner.
Round 7 and after a good spell from Martinez, Warrington put it on Martinez and did not stop until the referee jumped in to save Martinez from further punishment. Time of the stoppage was 2:12 of the 7th round.
With the win, Warrington regains the IBF world featherweight championship.

After 12 rounds of action, the judges scored the fight 120-108, 119-109 and 118-110, with Hughes coming out on top and keeping hold of his belt.
