Avril Mathie has had her opponent confirmed for her return to the ring this month – as she will take on undefeated Jesca Mfinanga on September 18.
The two women will clash in Dubai on the undercard of the clash between strongman-turned-boxer Thor Bjornsson, and arm wrestling legend Devon Larratt, and it will be broadcast live on CoreSports.World.
Mathie (6-0-1, 3 KOs) last competed in June, defeating Moni Trejo by unanimous decision, extending her unbeaten run since making her debut back in 2018.
Mfinanga (2-0-1) made her debut in February 2020 with a victory over Veronica Thomas, and followed that up with another win over Lulu Kayage, before earning a draw last time out against Dorothea Muhoza in July.
Elsewhere on the card in Dubai on September 18, heavyweight Martin Bakole returns against Haruna Osumanu, CrossFit rivals Josh Bridges and Jacob Heppner collide, while the likes of Stephane Fondjo, Anthony De Bruijn, Stefi Cohen and more are all in action too.
