Miguel Angel Gonzalez vs. Lamar Murphy

MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA – August 19th 1995

Miguel Angel Gonzalez from Mexico defended the WBC lightweight title defeating American Lamar Murphy by majority decision, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was controversial and after the result, both corners unwisely traded punches. The Referee was Mitch Halpern, and the Judges were Omar Mintun, Dalby Shirley and Daniel Van de Wiele.

March 29th, 1994

Mexican, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, defended his WBC lightweight championship defeating Jean Baptiste Mendy with a fifth round TKO.  The clash took place at the Palace Marcel Cardan de Levallois-Perret, France.  It abruptly ended at two minutes 0:49 seconds of the mentioned round, when Referee, Arthur Mercante, stopped the fight. The Judges were Franz Marti, Tom Kaczmarek and Chuck Hassett.

January 18, 1997.- The then undefeated, Oscar De la Hoya, defended his WBC super lightweight championship for the first time- a title he’d  conquered by defeating Julio Cesar Chavez, by defeating Miguel Angel Gonzalez via UD. The match took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Referee was Mills Lane, while the Judges were John Keane, Bob Logist and Anek Hongtojngkam.

18 de enero de 1997.- El entonces invicto Oscar De la Hoya realizó la primera defensa de su campeonato mundial de peso superligero WBC, (la cual había ganado al imponerse a Julio César Chávez) y en ella derrotó mediante una decisión unánime en doce asaltos a Miguel Angel González. El escenario fue el Thomas & Mack Center de Las Vegas, Nevada. El tercero entre las cuerdas fue Mills Lane y actuaron como jueces John Keane, Bob Logist y Anek Hongtojngkam.
