Isabel Millan vs. Eva Guzman

Televisora del Pacífico in Millán 3/6/21

The Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico-born Isabel “Estrella” Millan (29-6-1, 9 KOs) will have a new championship opportunity against the tough Venezuelan fighter Eva “La Ley” Guzman (17-1-1,10 KOs).

The World Boxing Association Flyweight Championship will be at stake, and both fighters are part of the ranking of the organization. This will be one of the main fights of the card to be held on June 4th at the premises of Televisora del Pacífico in Millán’s hometown.

The local fighter is very experienced and one of the most remarkable fights she has had was against the two-time Olympic medalist Nicola Adams from Great Britain in 2018. The following year she fought the IBF 112-pound Champion Leonela Yudica in Argentina, where a hard headbutt left the clash without a decision in the fourth round. She has also fought the outstanding Naoko Fujioka in 2017, when she fell on the judges’ cards, with the same title that she is looking to conquer against Guzman at stake. She is currently ranked #1 in the WBA Flyweight rankings while her opponent is ranked #4.

On the other hand, the native of Maracay, Venezuela, has a respectable record with ten KOs over 17 wins and only one loss against Debora Rengifo, with whom she also shares a draw. With less experience but a very attractive style in the ring, “La Ley” Guzman has made her career in the Light Flyweight and Minimumweight divisions so far, having reached the WBA International belt in the latter category after defeating Panamanian Yaditza Perez in 2018.

On Friday, June 4th, in Culiacan, Mexico, one of these two warriors will win the black and gold belt at 112 pounds.
