Former UBO International Super Welterweight ruler Hassan Mwakinyo (19-2, 13 KOs) from Tanzania won the African Boxing Union (ABU) title on May 28, stopping Antonio Maiala from Angola in the ninth round.

Mwakinyo is now scheduled to defend his new title on July 30 against former World Lightweight Champion Julius Indongo.

UBO Female World Super Lightweight Champion Alicia Melina Kummer (13-1, 8 KOs) is recovering from a leg-injury she suffered back in March, forcing her to call off a planned title-defense for this summer.

The Universal Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) wishes The Champ a healthy return.

 Former UBO International Middleweight Champion Mohamed El Achi, a Belgian national based in France, is still going strong.

El Achi, who held the UBO title in 2015 and went on to also capture an IBF regional title, defeated journeyman Martin Owono by unanimous decision on June 19, improving his record to 16-3-3 (5).

UBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion Anthony de Bruijn (9-0-1, 6 KOs) is back in the gym, waiting on a date for his next fight.

Dutchman De Bruijn won the UBO title on May 28 in Dubai with a unanimous decision over tough Ghanaian Emmanuel Noi Mensah.
