Neeraj wins UBO Asia-Pacific Title in Noida in bizarre circumstances
Moksadul Rana vs. Neeraj
Ramagya Sports Academy, Noida, India – 11 June 2022
While the result didn’t come about in a manner that anyone had hoped, Indian Neeraj hardly put a foot wrong and is the new Universal Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Asia-Pacific Super Welterweight Champion.
On Saturday June 11 in Noida, his opponent, Moksadul Rana from Bangladesh, came out throwing wild hay-makers, hitting mostly air, while Neeraj quickly adjusted and avoided the punches with ease.
Suddenly, Rana informed referee Rahul Sharma that he didn’t want to continue, without being hit by any punches of consequence or appear to be injured, and just like that the fight was waved over at 1:55 of the first round.

It was a highly bizarre ending, and an unfortunate one for Mr. Neeraj, now 5-2 (5), who deserved a more game opponent and obviously has no fault.
The show was promoted by Dwarka Pro Boxing Promotions, who put on a fine event and also deserved a better effort from the visiting title-challenger.
