Mouhamed Sder from Belgium got off to a flying start to his professional career in 2013, and won his first five outings.

But his time as a promising undefeated prospect would be short, and he went through several ups and downs before finishing his career on a high only four years later in 2017.

In 2014 he lost back-to-back fights against fellow prospects, and after that he drew in two of his next four outings. A run with only two wins in six fights didn’t bode well for his prize-fighting future.

But following a win in December of 2015 he got a shot at the vacant WBC Francophone Welterweight title against hot favourite Imad Azaroui (8-0).

Sder didn’t let his role as the underdog deter him, and he grinded out a close but deserved majority decision victory in his opponents home-town.

Two months later he stopped Hakim Ben Ali (13-2) in the second round, and it looked as if Sder was on track to fulfilling his potential.

But he then lost the WBC title on a very close decision to Frenchman Damien Martin (24-8-4), in France, and was upset by Cedrick Peynaud (2-3-3) in his next fight.

At 10-4-2, it looked as if he had reached his limit, but Sder had one final run in him which started with a knockout win over Georgian Anzor Gamgebeli (24-15-3) in October 2016.

He then stopped Djiby Diagne (3-1), and secured a shot at the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Welterweight title on May 12, 2017 against Serbian Zeljko Kovacevic (7-4-1).

It wasn’t an easy fight, but again Sder proved his mettle and emerged victorious by split decision to capture his second professional title.

It turned out to be his last appearance in the ring, and he retired as UBO Champion with a 13-4-2 (5) record.
