MTK Global to hold box cup in Spain
MTK Global will hold an international box cup event in Spain later this year – with the MTK Global Lonsdale Box Cup taking place in Cullera from May 20th to May 22nd.
The amateur tournament goes alongside the already-planned MTK Box Cup event in Glasgow, meaning that two huge MTK Box Cup events are scheduled for the coming months, with juniors, youths, senior and elite boxers all eligible to enter.

MTK Global Box Cup Organiser Steve Sharkey said: “This is a huge step in the right direction for us as the leading global tournament to expend out and reach all of the European boxers.
“It has been a long time coming and we are expecting a huge influx participating in this, and we look forward to collaborating with Leopoldo Bonias and alongside the Valencian Boxing Federation.
“There are future world champions in Europe and our tournament will aim to assist and help them throughout. Champions from our Spanish tournament will have to come to the UK to box for the MTK Global Lonsdale Box Cup belts, and the boxing within our tournament is going to reach even higher levels year on year and this is beautiful to see it coming to fruition.”
Leopoldo Bonias, President of the Boxing Federation of the Valencian Community said: “The Boxing Federation of the Valencian Community will celebrate the centenary of its foundation by hosting in Cullera the prestigious international amateur tournament; the MTK Global Lonsdale Box Cup.
“We are eager to welcome you all to Valencia so that we can all enjoy a magnificent tournament together alongside the beaches, hospitality, and international boxing in Costa Valencia.
“I am very pleased and grateful to be part of this great event by bringing it to the Costa Valencia, alongside the Valencian Boxing Federation.”
Ricky Pow of MTK Costa Blanca added: “The MTK Global Lonsdale Box Cup is one of the biggest amateur tournaments in the world and our aim is to make this one an enormous success within Europe, giving all the participants an unbelievable and unforgettable experience.
“We will be having some of the best amateur talents part of this event from countries throughout Europe. Cullera on the Costa Valencia will provide us with unbelievable scenery, with some of the best beaches in Europe making this event more enjoyable to everyone involved.
