Ricardo ”Finito” Lopez conquered the WBC strawweight world championship after defeating Japan’s Hideyuki Ohashi, in five blistering rounds. The major mini battle, was at the Korakuen Hall of Tokyo, Japan.
Lopez would establish a record for having the most defenses in this division. He retired undefeated with a brilliant record of 51 wins and 1 draw. For the The fight against Ohashi, the Referee was Tony Pérez. The Judges were Terry Smith, Dalby Shirley and Ladislao Sanchez.
