Weymouth (MA) super welterweight Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (10-0, 10 KOs) went 10-for-10, blasting out Vincent Floyd (4-12-2, 2 KOs) midway through the opening round, headlining “St. Valentines’ Day Massacre,” presented by Vertex Promotions, at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

The 21-year-old Hogan was the headliner for the first time, as well as in his first scheduled 8-round bout, brought the fight to his overmatched opponent right after the opening bell sounded and he never let up. Hogan, a southpaw, stunned Floyd, who’s legs buckled and left him on the ropes and vulnerable to sharp-shooting Hogan. Hogan unleashed a barrage of unanswered punches until the referee halted the action midway through round one as his many fans erupted in joy.

The wildly popular Hogan is the reigning New Hampshire super welterweight champion, in addition to capturing a gold medal at the 2019 New England Golden Gloves.

In the co-featured event, Dorchester (MA) lightweight Jonathan Depina (7-1, 4 KOs) rolled to a 6-round unanimous decision victory over his Argentinian opponent, Jonathan “El Guapo” Hernan Godoy (5-13).

Mansfield (MA) boxer James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (9-0, 7 KOs) looked sharp, punching his way to a second-round win over Zack Kuhn (10-11-1, 5 KOs), who hit the canvas several times, by way of technical knockout in their Special Welterweight Attraction.

Fighting for the first time in 2 ½ years, South Boston’s Joe Farina (8-1, 4 KOs) amazingly showed no rust, taking a one-sided 6-round unanimous decision from Las Vegas middleweight Rynell Griffin (8-50-2, 2 KOs).

New York City super lightweight Jaica Pavilus (2-4-1, 1 KO) registered the lone upset of the evening, winning a 6-round majority decision versus previously unbeaten Miranda “El Alacrana” Reyes (5-1-1, 3 KOs) in the first pro fight between females in Dedham.

Dorchester featherweight Troy Anderson Jr. (4-0, 2 KOs), a local favorite and union Sheetmetal worker in local 17, controlled the action from start to finish in his fist 6-rounder, effectively using his boxing skills en route to a 6-round unanimous decision over Mike Fowler (7-43, 2 KOs).

In his first 6-round bout, Irish prospect Tommy “The Kid” O’Toole (3-0, 2 KOs) went the distance for the first time as a professional, dominating dangerous Larry “Hitman” Pryor (15-24, 9 KOs), the New Hampshire Cruiserweight Champion, winning all six rounds on each of the three judges’ scorecards for a shutout performance. The fight was contested at a187-pound catchweight. O’Toole, fighting out of Galway, was the 2019 Irish Elite Championship gold medalist.

The Davidson brothers Kansas City, Kansas, fought on the same pro card for the first time and both were victorious. Marcus was fighting in his first scheduled 6-rounder, but he ended the show late in round one, after dropping welterweight Rakim Johnson (6-16-1, 5 KOs) twice. His older brother, super lightweight Marcell (1-0), turned in a promising pro debut, easily winning a 4-round unanimous decision against Cesar “Cobra” Espinal Maldanado (0-2). Marcell is a 2-time Ringside World and 2019 National Golden Gloves Champion.

Southbridge (MA) featherweight Alex Rivera (3-0, 2 KOs) decked Brandon “Bulldog” Grimmett (0-6) twice, the second stopping him late in the opening round.

Vertex Promotions’ next event is scheduled for May 14 at Moseley’s On The Charles.

Vertex Promotions returns February 12th with “St. Valentine’s Day’s Massacre,” headlined by undefeated super lightweight prospect Adrian “Tonka” Sosa, on Saturday night, February 12, at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

“We’re very excited to continue promoting our shows to showcase local talent,” Vertex promoter Dave Clark said. “We made our debut last September and promoted three more pro shows last year. We learned a lot and continue our goal to keep local fighters active and provide an entertaining night out for fans.”

The 26-year-old Sosa (12-0, fighting out of Lawrence (MA), headlined a Vertex show last September in his first action in more than 2 years. He will take on an opponent to be determined Feb. 12th in the 8-round main event.

In the 8-round co-featured event, undefeated ABF American West and NBA Continental champion RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (15-0, 11 KOs) faces TBA as the Albany fighter continues his march towards a major fight.

Undefeated welterweight prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (8-0, 5 KOs), fighting out of Mansfield, Massachusetts, is matched tough against Mexican challenger Danny “Venado” Flores (15-26-1, 8 KOs) in an 8-round bout. Perella is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion.

It’s “Tank Time,” again. Undefeated Weymouth (MA) super welterweight prospect Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (9-0, 9 KOs) will attempt to keep his perfect pro record intact and go 10-for-10 in an 8-rounder versus TBA.

Boston Irish will be in the house as Ireland-natives “Lethal” Larry Fryers (11-5, 4 KOs) and Tommy “The Kid” O’Toole (2-0, 2 KOs) are schedule to be in action. Fryers, a welterweight now living in Yonkers (NY), is a 20212 Ulster Intermediate Champion, while light heavyweight O’Toole (2-0, 2 KOs) returns to the Boston area for his third pro fight. O’Toole, fighting out of Galway, was a 2019 Irish Elite Championship gold medalist.

Fryers will be in a scheduled 8-rounder, O’Toole a 4, and both will be matched against opponents to be determined.

Also fighting in 4-round matches against TBA’s are popular Dorchester (MA) featherweight Troy Anderson Jr. (1-0, 1 KO), a 2016 Rocky Marciano Tournament champion, and Southbridge (MA) super featherweight Alex Rivera (2-0, 1 KO).

Vertex Promotions has announced it will present “Fall Brawl,” headlined by undefeated super lightweight prospect Adrian “Tonka” Sosa (12-0, 9 KOs), Saturday night, November 20th at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

“We’re excited to be promoting our fourth show we’ve promoted since our inaugural event this past September 25th,” Vertex promoter Dave Clark said. “We’ve found a home at Moseley’s On the Charles, which provides intimate setting just outside of Boston. Our goal remains to provide local boxers with opportunities to stay active and fight in front of their family and friends. We get better at promoting with each show.”

Sosa will fight Alfonso Olvera (12-6-3, 4 KOs), fighting out of Tucson (AZ) by way of Mexico, in the 8-round main event. Sosa, who hadn’t fought in 28 months, returned to the ring with a fury, albeit showing signs of rust. His hands were quick, as usual, and he was well poised as on the last Vertex show, September 25th at the same venue. His veteran Mexican opponent, Danny “Venado” Flores (15-25-1, 8 KOs), continually but unsuccessfully tried to lure Sosa into traps. Sosa was the hunter, stalking a game Flores, who often stayed in the corners or on the ropes baiting Sosa to mix it up. Sosa “pitched a shutout,” winning eight rounds on all three judges’ scorecards.

In his last fight (Sept. 28, 2019), Olvera upset previously undefeated Amon Torres by way of an 8-round unanimous decision. Olvera also gained invaluable experience going the distance with current unified World super lightweight champion Josh Taylor and former IBF Super Lightweight World titlist Ivan Baranchyk.

In the co-featured event, undefeated welterweight prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (8-0, 5 KOs), fighting out of Mansfield, Massachusetts, faces veteran Jacksonville (FL) fighter Andre Byrd (8-11-2, 1 KO) in the Perella’s first scheduled 8-rounder event. Perella is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion. The popular fighter returns in the 6-round co-featured event.

Undefeated ABF American West and NBA Continental champion, 23-year-old Albany (NY) lightweight RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (14-0, 11 KOs), returns to his second home at Moseley’s On The Charles again to fight Columbian lightweight Rudolfo “El Tsunam” Puentes (20=8-2, 16 KOs).

Promising super welterweight prospect Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (8-0, 8 KOs) will put his perfect pro record on the line in a 6-round bout against an opponent to bet determined. Hogan, of Weymouth, MA, is the reigning New Hampshire super welterweight champion, as well as a 2019 New England Golden Gloves gold medalist.

In a pair of 6-round bouts, New Bedford (MA) middleweight Drew “Tomahawk” Dwelly (3-0-2, 3 KOs) meets Las Vegas’ Zachary Scott Juusda (1-1, 1 KO), while Springfield (MA) super lightweight super lightweight Eric “Gladiator” Goff (4-0, 3 KOs) is back against Carlos Galindo (0-9).

Unbeaten Providence middleweight Anthony Concepcion (8-0-1, 6 KOs), a member of World middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, will be in action against TBA in a 6-rounder.

Malden (MA) super featherweight Alex Rivera (1-0, 1 KO) faces Francisco Muro (3-8) in a 4-round bout. Back-to-back pro boxing events concluded last night for Vertex Promotions as super lightweight Adrian “Tonka” Sosa remained undefeated, winning the “Fight Night on the Charles at Mosley’s III” main event, at Mosley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

“This weekend was challenging,” Vertex Promotions president Dave Clark said. “It took a lot of hard work by a great group of people. We’re learning more every show and now we’ve done three. We’re getting better with each. We’ll give it a day or two and then evaluate what we di well and what areas we need to improve in. We’ll keep moving forward.”

Sosa (12-0, 9 KOs), who hadn’t fought in 28 months, returned to the ring with a fury, albeit showing signs of rust. His hand were quick, as usual, and he was well poised as his veteran Mexican opponent, Danny “Venado” Flores (15-25-1, 8 KOs), continually but unsuccessfully tried to lure Sosa into traps. Sosa was the hunter, stalking a game Flores, who often stayed in the corners or on the ropes baiting Sosa to mix it up.

In the third round, Sosa dropped Flores with a sweet left-right combination, but Flores was remained resilient. Sosa obliged, ten-fold. He was the clear aggressor from start to finish, setting the pace and resulting in an 8-round shutout decision for Sosa, winning every round on all three judges’ scorecards, against the granite-chinned Flores.

“I had to work off some rush fighting for the first time in more than 700 days,” Sosa admitted. “I’m not disappointed in my performance though. I needed to get in some rounds, and he was tough. I kept my poise in the ring. I would have liked to have finished him off, but I really needed rounds. I’m very happy with my new management (Fighter Locker) and Ryan (Roach). I’m looking to step up next year. We have a list of potential opponents we’ll go over and choose one.”

In the co-featured event, undefeated welterweight Eric “Gladiator” Goff improved to 4-0 with his third career knockout, by way of a powerful left hook that nearly put an out-classed Luciano Santos (0-2) to sleep. A native of Hawaii, Goff now fights out of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Dorchester (district of Boston) featherweight Troy Anderson, Jr. (2-0, 2 KOs) completely dominated pro-debuting Chakem Brooks enroute to a second-round technical knockout. Anderson, a 2016 Rocky Marciano Tournament champion, dropped Brooks at the end of round one with a left hook. Brooks managed to beat the count, however, he was knocked down three additional times in the second round, after which referee Kevin Hope waved off the fight.

The pro debut of highly regarded Irish prospect Tommy “The Kid” O’Toole, walked into the ring by a bagpipe player for the fighter who was ‘shipping up to Boston’ for a sensational first-round knockout triumph. The Galway southpaw consistently drilled Brazilian cruiserweight Francisco Ariri Neto (1-15, 1 KO), who landed on the canvas three times, much to the delight of the largely Irish American crowd. O’Toole, who won a gold medal at the 2019 Irish Elite Championships, used a straight left for the first knockdown, quickly followed by a combination for Neto’s second trip to the mat, and finally a left to the body that Neto was unable to rise from before the referee’s count reached ten.

In a battle of Kansas super lightweights, pro-debuting Marcus Davidson (1-0, 1 KO) dropped Austin Reed Ward (0-9) three times in the first half of the opening round for a win by technical knockout. Davidson decked Ward with a crisp left hook, straight right in the corner, and finally a nice uppercut.

New York welterweight Brandon Idrogo (4-1, 4 KOs) bounced back from his first pro loss in his last fight, stopping overmatched journeyman Paulo Souza (0-23) in the third round. Idrogo battered Souza from the first bell until an unanswered barrage of punches led referee Tom Clark to half the action.

Albany lightweight RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez lived up to his nickname in the main event last night on the “Fight Night on the Charles at Moseley’s II” card, presented by Vertex Promotions, at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

“Fight Night on the Charles at Moseley III” will be held this evening (Saturday) at the same venue, headlined by an 8-round super lightweight bout between undefeated Adrian “Tonka” Sosa (11-0, 9 KOs) and Danny “Venado” Flores.

The reigning NBA Continental Junior welterweight and ABF American West super lightweight champion, Bermudez outclassed his Ugandan opponent, Philip “The Hunter” Adyaka (7-16, 4 KOs), in fact, destroying him in a one-sided fight that only lasted until midway through the second round. In the final round, Bermudez badly hurt Adayaka with a powerful right hand and Adayaka never recovered. He was getting pounded when the referee waved off the fight.

“I felt sharp and strong in the ring tonight,” Bermudez said after the fight. “I was strong from a good training camp. I knew he was nervous when the fight started. I knew going into this fight and it would only go one or two rounds. I just want to keep fighting and work hard to get to the top.”

In the co-featured event, celebrated New England amateur boxer Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (8-0, 8 KOs) kept his perfect pro record intact on his 21st birthday, abusing Rakim Johnson (6-14-1, 5 KOs) from the start until the eventual finish in round three. Hogan dropped Johnson with a right hook in round two and again moments later, which was not ruled a knockdown because of a low blow. A tall, lanky southpaw from Weymouth (MA), Hogan came out in the third to close the show, throwing explosive punches that decked Johnson three more times in the third, until the referee mercifully ended the fight.

“For me, personally, there was no better way to celebrate my 21st birthday than this,” Hogan talked about winning in such impressive fashion on his birthday. I live to do this in the ring. I wanted everybody there for me to celebrate. The key tonight was relaxation. I started out that way and got things going right up to the end. I want to close out the year fighting. And when that call comes for a world title fight, It’ll be Tank time!”

New Hampshire cruiserweight champion Larry “Hit Man” Pryor (15-24, 9 KOs), fighting out of Maryland, overcame a second-round knockdown and trailed, 20-17, on all three judges’ scorecards, until he cracked an unsuspecting Bryant , a 2-time New England amateur champion, with a left hook thrown from downtown that landed right on the button for a shocking third-round knockout.

Cornered by World super middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade and father, Paul, Providence middleweight Anthony Conception (8-0-1, 6 KOs) dominated Lenwood “Mr. Composure” Dozier (10-27-3, 5 KOs) enroute to a 6-round unanimous decision. Conception won all six rounds, using a stiff jab to set up powerful combinations to the head and body, buzzing a very game Dozier at the end of the third round with several well-placed right uppercuts.

New Bedford (MA) middleweight Drew “Tomahawk” Dwelly (3-0-2, 3 KOs) ripped a left hook to David Rohn’s (0-9-1) body, dropping the Illinois fighter midway through the opening round. Rohn beat the count, however, he didn’t respond to the referee’s instructions and the fight was halted.

Fight Night on the Charles at Moseley’s II

Vertex Promotions has announced its second event, “Fight Night on the Charles at Moseley’s II,” on Saturday night, September 25, at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

A few of the same fighters from Vertex Promotions’ first show, July 31st at the same venue, will be in action again.

“We were very happy with the first show on July 31st,” Vertex promoter Dave Clark said. “Everyone there really had a great time. This show will be great as well. There’s a lot of local talent and we want to try to keep them as active as we can give fans around here a great night out.”

Undefeated ABF American West and NBA Continental champion, 23-year-old Albany (NY) welterweight RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (13-0, 10 KOs) will headline the show once again in the 8-round main event,

Undefeated welterweight prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (8-0, 5 KOs), fighting out of Mansfield, Massachusetts, is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion. The popular fighter returns in the 6-round co-featured event.

Undefeated super featherweight Daniel “G.D.F.E.” Bailey (7-0, 4 KOs), fighting out of Tampa (FL), and unbeaten Lawrence (MA) junior welterweight Adrian “Tonka” Sosa (11-0, 9 KOs) are slated to be in 6-round bouts. Bailey is a 4-time U.S. Army and 2012 Ringside National champion, as well as the cousin of multiple world champion Randall Bailey.

Dorchester (MA) featherweight Troy Anderson, Jr. (1-0, 1 KO), a 2016 Rocky Marciano Tournament champion, and Lynn (MA) light heavyweight James Perkins (5-0-1, 4 KOs) are scheduled to be in 4-rounders.

Other returning fighters from Vertex Promotions’ inaugural event include Boston welterweight James Murrin (1-0), Malden (MA) junior lightweight Alex Rivera (1-0, 1 KO) in 4-round matches.

Undefeated ABF American West super lightweight champion RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (12-0, 9 KOs) will headline “Fight Night on the Charles at Mosley’s,” presented by Vertex Promotions, in Massachusetts’ first professional boxing match event in 1 ½ years, at Mosley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

The 23-year-old Bermudez, fighting out of Albany (NY), faces Bergman “The Snake” Aguillar (15-8-1, 5 KOs), the former WBA FEDALATIN Super Featherweight Champion, in the 8-round main event for the vacant NBA Continental junior welterweight title in what will be the first pro boxing show ever in the neighbouring Boston town of Dedham.

“I’m excited to be headlining for the first time,” the former upstate New York amateur standout Bermudez said. “I’m going to put on a good fight for the fans and do my thing. My opponent is a southpaw and I’ve fought three southpaws. Straight right hands, go left not right, and stay away from his left is the plan. I want to get him out no later than five rounds. I’ll box, set him up, and hopefully get him out.”

Hector Bermudez, who Hector has trained several world champions including TJ Doheny and Javier Fortuna, is his nephew RayJay’s head trainer. He treats me like anybody else, no special treatment,” RayJay explained. He pushes me to the limit and doesn’t take it easy on me. That’s good for me.”

Undefeated welterweight prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (7-0, 5 KOs), of Mansfield (MA), is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion, who will take on Indiana’s Rakim Johnson (6-12-1, 5 KOs) in the 6-round, co-featured event.

Another undefeated prospect, Weymouth (MA) middleweight Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (6-0, 6 KOs), faces Isiah Hart (6-1-1, 4 KOs) in a 6-round Special Middleweight Attraction. Hogan is the reigning New Hampshire Silver Welterweight Champion.

Vertex Promotions will present the first professional Massachusetts boxing event in 1 ½ years, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, on Saturday, July 31^st at Moseley’s On The Charles, marking the first pro boxing show ever held in the bordering Boston town of Dedham, Massachusetts.

“Vertex Promotions is honored to put on the first live boxing event In Massachusetts since Covid-19,” Vertex Promotions president Dave Clark said. “We are even more excited about the action-packed fight card we were able to put together for our first event.”

Undefeated ABF American West super lightweight champion RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (12-0, 9 KOs) will headline against Bergman “The Snake” Aguillar (15-8-1, 5 KOs), the former WBA FEDALATIN Super Featherweight Champion, in the 8-round, non-title fight main event.

The 23-year-old Bermudez, fighting out of Albany (NY), is trained by his uncle, Hector Bermudez, who has trained multiple world champions including TJ Doheny and Javier Fortuna.

Highly decorated amateur boxer and promising prospect, James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (7-0, 5 KOs), will put his undefeated pro record on the line in the 6-round, co-featured event versus Indiana welterweight Rakim Johnson (6-12-1, 5 KOs). Fighting out of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Perella is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion.

Another New England Golden Gloves champion, undefeated middleweight Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (6-0, 6 KOs), will square-off against the toughest opponent of his young career, Isiah Hart (6-1-1, 4 KOs), in a 6-round Special Middleweight Attraction. Hogan is also the reigning New Hampshire Silver Welterweight Champion.
