Camara Kalilou defeats Wapet Rudel for RBO Africa Heavyweight title
Camara Kalilou vs. Wapet Rudel
The Ivorian Camara Kalilou won the RBO Africa Heavyweight title this Friday by the towel being thrown in the first round of Cameroonian Wapet Rudel.
This is the first belt as a professional Ivorian. He now has 7 wins and one loss in 8 professional fights.
In the heat of the Palais des Sports de Treichville, Camara Kalilou was logically superior. He did not give the Cameroonian champion time to settle into the fight. He accelerated from the start of the fight before knocking out Wapet after an avalanche of punches, forcing the Cameroonian’s corner to throw in the towel.
“I’m happy to have taken this title but I know that now great challenges await me,” said Camara. The hard part is not getting there, but staying there. It’s a step. It’s a first dream that has just come true, there will be more. I was confident in my physique, ”explained the new RBO champion after his victory.
