Amanda Serrano receives diamond ring during emotional activity
Arecibo, Puerto Rico – Amanda Serrano, considered by many to be the most outstanding boxer today, was surprised by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) and its president, Francisco Valcárcel with a majestic ring of diamonds in emotional activity in front of several Puerto Rican champions and former world champions and other outstanding fighters of today.
The presentation took place during a friendly meeting at the beach house of former world champion Samuel Serrano, located in the Islote neighborhood of this municipality.
Also, Jordan Maldonado, Serrano’s manager and coach, was received a miniature replica of the WBO world belt.
Serrano is the current unified champion of 126 pounds, this by winning the world belts of the World Boxing Organization, World Boxing Council and International Boxing Organization in that division.
The Carolina-born fighter is the only person who has been a 7-division world champion in professional boxing under the 4 world-recognized bodies.
Present at the emotional activity were: Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez (WBO World Champion 105 pounds), Cindy Serrano (former WBO World Champion 126 pounds), Jean ‘Lobo’ Torres, José Pedraza (World Champion of two divisions), René Santiago ( WBO Latin Champion 108 pounds), Edgar Berlanga (ranked seventh at 168 pounds by the WBO), rising prospects Xander Zayas, Omar Rosario, Frevian González and outstanding amateur fighter Kiria Tapia.
Former World Champions Miguel Cotto, Alfredo ‘El Salsero’ Escalera, Orlando Fernández, Ángel ‘La Avispa’ Chacón, Josué ‘Dickie’ Camacho, John John Molina, Ossie Ocasio, Rafael del Valle, Iván Calderón, Daniel ‘La Cobra; Jimenez, Nelson Dieppa, Víctor ‘Luvi’ Calleja and three-time world title contender Wilfredo Rivera.
