Double women’s WBA belt night in Antioquia, Columbia
Considered as the Young Corner of the Aburrá Valley, Sabaneta, the municipality of Antioquia, Colombia, will host this Saturday, November 13, an attractive boxing event. Young Argentinean prospects will be present: Jazmín Villariño will clash gloves with Yenifer Leon for the World Boxing Association Gold Light Flyweight belt. While Clara Lescurat will fight Yusbelit Torrealba for the Fedelatin flyweight.
This will be a great opportunity for the Argentinean Lescurat and Villariño to continue growing and position themselves at the highest level. Both have a fruitful amateur past, having been part of the Argentinean national team.
On the other hand, Jazmín Villariño, nicknamed “La Jefa”, turned professional in November 2016, having a period of almost two years of inactivity due to maternity. When she returned in 2019, she did it in great physical condition and completed so far a total of 7 fights: 4 wins, 1 only defeat and 2 draws that have been wars. The opponent Yenifer Leon, native of Venezuela will arrive with more experience having made 16 professional presentations: 13 wins with 3 knockouts and 3 losses. These two warriors will fight for the 108 lbs. gold title.
On the other hand, Lescurat, who comes from winning by technical knockout in two rounds less than a month ago in the same country, will seek to maintain the 4-fight undefeated record when she will fight for the vacant WBA Fedelatin flyweight title against the also undefeated Oscarys Zarraga with 6 wins with 4 decisions before the limit and only 1 draw.
There will also be other striking female bouts: in the super flyweight category, the local Veronica Zuluaga will face the Venezuelan Kimberlin Reina and in the super bantamweight category, Paulina Angel from Colombia, agreed 4 rounds with her compatriot Stefanía Garnica.
In addition, the evening will be completed with another staging of the young Olympian from Argentina, Mirco Cuello, against Jorge Almanza in the super bantamweight category in 8 rounds.
It is worth adding that prior to the professional fights, there will be an interesting amateur boxing exchange between the youth teams of Argentina and Colombia.
