Tasha Jonas Receives Ring Magazine Awards

Tasha Jonas has been rewarded for her superb efforts during 2020 after she picked up two awards in Ring Magazine’s Women’s Boxing Awards.

Jonas received the Fight of the Year accolade for her battle with Terri Harper last August, with round five of that contest also receiving Round of the Year.

The fight with Harper was regarded as one of the best female fights of all time, with many fans believing that Jonas had done enough to win the bout and become WBC super-featherweight champion.

Speaking on their decision for the awards, Ring Magazine said: “In August 2018 Natasha Jonas was written off after a stoppage loss to Viviane Obenauf. Completely written off.

“Two years and three days later, the Olympian came within one point on one judge’s scorecard from taking Terri Harper’s WBC super-featherweight title. Harper and Jonas traded for 10 rounds, with the infighting some of the best seen the ladies’ game in some time.”
