Teofimo-Kambosos Jr. in undefeated duel for the WBA belt this Saturday
Teofimo Lopez vs. George Kambosos Jr
LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida, USA 19/6/21
Teofimo Lopez will make the first defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) Lightweight Super Championship against the dangerous George Kambosos Jr. this Saturday. The American of Honduran descent will step into the ring at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida for a great duel between undefeated fighters.
Lopez became the top 135-pound star after defeating Vasyl Lomachenko in October last year. Lopez, younger and less experienced, dominated the Ukrainian, considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters today.
Now he will make his first appearance as the pioneer body’s new Super Champion. He is only 23 years old and also holds the IBF, WBO, and WBC belts.
He will face 28-year-old Australian Kambosos, who comes into the bout after defeating veteran Lee Selby. He has good boxing skills, a respectable power, and a long career that makes him worthy of facing the best today.
Promotional activities for the event will be held this week and on Friday the weigh-in ceremony will take place. The same event will have WBA Super Middleweight Champion, Elin Cederroos, facing Franchon Crews Dezurn in a bout for all the belts.
Both Lopez and Kambosos are undefeated. In the case of Teofimo, he has 16 wins and 12 KOs, while Kambosos Jr. has 19 wins and 10 KOs.
