The National Club Open
The National Club Open was held in Murcia (Spain), with many young amateur prospects seeking glory and to be monitored by the many professional promoters and managers present and correct at the event.
The level shown by all of them was very high, and the celebration by the Spanish Boxing Federation was a notable success. The representative of the World Boxing Council, Ricky Pow, was present in the final phase to follow the young talents, among them, a pair of gems.
Miguel Cuadrado, has been several times Champion of Spain in Boxing, conquering gold in the 75 kilos category. “Miguelon” is a regular fighter on the Spanish boxing team, and, after a successful campaign at the pre-Olympics in London that was delayed by the pandemic, he is now one step away from getting into the Olympics.
Also, Sergio Martínez conquered the 69 kilogram category. At 18 years old, he has recently debuted in the Elite category, and is already taking great steps and marking territory against fighters with great experience in this type of tournament. He is the nephew of Kiko Martínez, a former three-time world champion. It is not the first success of Sergio Martínez, who recently won the international championship in Lithuania.
The World Boxing Council wishes the best of luck and progressive success to these gems of amateur boxing.
