Troy Williamson extends deal with MTK Global
Troy Williamson has set his sights on the British super-welterweight title after extending his contract with his management team MTK Global.
Under the guidance of MTK Global, Williamson (16-0-1, 12 KOs) has earned a number of big victories, including winning the IBF European super-welterweight title and becoming mandatory for the British title.
The 29-year-old Darlington star is now excited to kick on, and is confident that with MTK Global backing him, he can reach the very top.
Williamson said: “I’m very pleased and excited to continue my journey by being managed by MTK Global. They are the world’s leading management team and together I believe we will reach the top.
“If it wasn’t for MTK behind me, I believe I’d have struggled to get the fights and exposure I’ve had, so I’m happy with what they’ve done and what the future holds.
“It was a great win last time out. Kieran Smith is a quality fighter and was 16-0 so was unbeaten and hungry and wanting to break onto the scene like myself so it was a dangerous fight.
“I prepared very well for that as it was my opportunity to show what I’m really about and I did that. I’m mandatory for the British title now, and I want that next.”
MTK Global’s Tom Stalker added: “I’m over the moon that Troy Williamson has re-signed with us. He’s in a great position and it looks like his next fight will be for the British title.
“We fully believe he can push on and go all the way, in what is one of the best weight divisions in the country. There are some really good fights out there for him him and the only way is up for Troy.”
