Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 postponed / cancelled
Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3 Cancelled
(by Kristian von Sponneck)
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and various team members have reportedly contracted COVID-19. It was apparently brought into Fury’s camp via one of his sparring partners.
Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel said: “Deontay is disappointed.”
Whilst to some, this may not come as a surprise, Fury vs. Wilder 3 is postponed, probably until October or November of this year.
No official announcement has been made yet and there is no official mention as to what is happening to the rest of the heavyweight undercard. We will post when an official update is given.
Fury and Wilder drew in their first fight and then in the rematch the Briton snatched the WBC Green and Gold Belt from Deontay. That fight contained a rematch clause leading to a trilogy before the end of 2020, but due to the Covid 19 crisis, it was not possible.
Whilst the following is just conspiracy, many were predicting this bout to fall through, especially as Joshua vs. Usyk has not OFFICIALLY been signed. Draw your own conclusions, I just hope that those many ‘theories’ as to this situation are wrong.
The third Fury-Wilder bout does need to happen to clear up any controversy with Fury-Wilder 2 and at the same time, Joshua needs to fight Usyk as he is the leading contender. Like the situation or not, rules are rules and an agreement was in place.
