WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu leads a children’s crusade
The WBC cruiserweight champion Ilunga Makabu, continues utilizing his platform in support of all the children of the Congo, for whom, he is a shining light of hope and inspiration, showing them that when they work with dedication and passion, dreams are realized and fulfilled.
Ilunga’s commitment to children and youth has been such that since 2013 he has helped various Foster homes through the Junior Makabu Foundation and has met with senior leaders in search of support. This specifically happened, when he was received by the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Félix Tshisekedi with who he had the opportunity to talk about his plans to continue helping his country.
His most recent meeting was with Madam Suzzana Taklec President of the “Union National in RDC for the Humanitary Action”, a woman who has dedicated her life to creating of various programs that focus on food security and livelihoods to combat poverty, exclusion, intolerance and discrimination.
During this meeting, the champion presented Madam Suzzana with the Green and Gold Belt, as well as a t-shirt Suzzana Taklec # 1; However, the most important aspect of this meeting was the practical cooperation agreements to work hand in hand in favour of the less fortunate through the Junior Makabu Foundation and the WBC Cares program.
Our Champion`s challenge involves the problems and difficulties experienced by children and young people. One of his prime goals is to expand charitable works to other parts of the world, convincing leaders, companies, and various associations to join this cause, because as he himself has expressed: “children and young people are the future of countries, a source of hope and those who will make this world better.”
The WBC are tremendously proud of their champion, due to his devoted dedication and commitment, helping those most in need. This is a wonderful example for all, a beacon of inspiration and a banner of humanity at its very finest.
