WBC Super bantamweight champion Yamileth Mercado, will defend her title for the second time, on this occasion against Angelica Rascón, topping the bill on Saturday at the Rodrigo M. Quevedo gym from Chihuahua, Mexico.

For Yamileth, this fight not only means the second defense of her world championship, but her consolidation in the elite of world boxing. And the possibility of facing, before year end, one of the three active legends of Mexican women’s boxing: Jackie Nava, Mariana “Barbie” Juárez or Zulina “Loba” Muñoz.

And for the challenger, Angélica Rascón, the prospect of victory represents fulfilling her dream of becoming a world champion, in Chihuahua, against a great champion.

Mercado enters this fight with a record of 17-2-0, 5 knockouts, while the challenging Rascón will arrives undefeated 10-0-0, 2 knockouts.
