On this day: Australian legend, Johnny Famechon, defeated the Japanese warrior Fighting Harada, successfully defending his WBC featherweight crown for the 2nd time.
Famechon conquered the WBC crown on January 21st, 1969, defeating Jose Legra. Then, he fought Harada for the first time in 1969. The fight resulted to be very impressive with both men visiting the canvass; however, after 15 rounds of pure action the victory went to Johnny.
Six months later Johnny Famechon left no doubt and traveled all the way to Japan to knock out the local idol in round 14.
