With less a month before Rising Star Promotion’s Boardwalk Boxing returns to the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Saturday, August 20, seven of the 10 scheduled bouts have been locked in.
The exciting Co-Main Event features undefeated Puerto Rican bantamweight Emmanuel “Salserito” Rodriguez (11-0, 5 KOs), from Newark, N.J. by way of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, taking on Frank “El Castigador” Gonzalez (9-2, 4KOs, Miami, Fla.) for the WBO NABO Latino Championship Bantamweight Belt, while a host of promising prospects will put their undefeated records on the line including Newark, N.J. flyweight Anthony Johns, Woodbridge, N.J bantamweight Jose Nieves, Duarte, Calif. super lightweight Kurt Scoby, and Chattanooga, Tenn. welterweight Avious Griffin.
Bouts for Main Event headliner Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna, pro debuting cruiserweight Justin “Time” Figueroa from Atlantic City and undefeated Pennsylvania middleweight Ryan Wilczak will be announced soon.
