23 year old Sean “Gusto” Brewer from Las Vegas, by way of Milwaukee, WI is making an impressive professional mark in boxing.  His first professional bout was last year against Shaileid Paisley which he won by a unanimous decision; however it wasn’t until his last fight promoted by Thompson Boxing in Ontario, CA that officially opened eyes with his first round knockout of Ivan Zarate.

Earle Orr with Pugilism Press weighs in on the New Blood match Feb. 18, 2022 featuring Brewer vs Zarate:

“That was a very impressive performance from the young Gusto.  To go into your opponents backyard and vanquish him in the first round speaks volumes.  Coupled with the fact that his opponent was undefeated at the time as well as a heavy favorite, Gusto defied the odds and walked away with a brutiful victory.  At just 23 years old, there are no limits on how far he can take his emerging career.”

Brewer took an interest in boxing at the age of 16, training under his cousin Ricco Spencer racking up 67 amateur fights over the course of 4 years. Brewer wants to let the world know that he is here and here to stay.

Brewer reflecting on his amateur career:

“With all of the accomplishments and goals I’ve achieved winning Amateur National Championships, Texas State Championships, Golden Govs and many more tournaments, I surprised myself with the amount of ranked fighters I was amongst and alongside.”

With that said, at the age of 20 Brewer decided to make a serious decision to move to Las Vegas, NV and pursue a professional career.  This is when he linked up with boxing Hall of Famer Clarence Bones Adams.

Brewer speaks on his transition from amateur to pro and working with Bones Adams:

“It was a major difference to me between the amateur and pro boxing styles.  As soon as I began training with Bones he has improved me inside and outside of the ring because boxing is a lifestyle and more than just fighting and training.  He is more than just a trainer, he is a role model to me and my family.”

Earle Orr with Pugilism Press weighs in:

“Bones Adams has a future world champ on his hands and I am looking forward to seeing this young man fulfill his full potential inside the squared circle.”

Interview with Vanessa McConnell with VNewz:

Q: Who is your most prized influencer in the boxing industry?

A: My all time influence that I watch since I started fighting to this day is Sugar Ray Leonard.  I’ve studied his amateur and professional fights.  Not just because of his immaculate style but I and others tend to see my style like his with a similar frame; long, tall and lengthy.

Q: Who is your favorite fighter to date?

A: I have two favorite fighters, Terence Crawford and Naoya Inoue.  They both have great boxing IQ.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

A: I see myself going from a rising prospect to a contender and becoming A World Champion.  I will be successful inside and outside of the ring.

Q: What fighters would you like to challenge in the near or far future?

A: A fighter I would love to share the ring with is one of my favorites, Naoya Inoue; challenging him in a fight or even rounds of sparring.

Q: What advice would you give to upcoming boxers looking to go pro?

A: I love the sport, art and science of boxing!  Being a professional boxer helps me with challenging experiences with all aspects of life, not just boxing.  So with that being said, some of my best advice I would give to a fighter pursuing a professional career is to Never Let Up, it’s contagious!  A loss is never a loss, it’s a lesson of experience to be greater.  The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.  Keep Being Great!
