Gareth Williams joins the the Fight Academy and Fightzone staff teams

With major growth predicted in 2022, Dennis Hobson and Asif Vali are delighted to welcome solicitor, Gareth Williams, to the Fight Academy and Fightzone staff teams. With a history of involvement in boxing at the highest level, as well as other sports, Gareth (pictured alongside Asif Vali and Dennis Hobson) will assist with all legal matters for the Fight Academy and Fightzone brands.

Williams has worked as a solicitor for more than 30 years, been a partner in major law firms, and has a renowned reputation for working within many sports industries; including football, snooker, darts and boxing.  Gareth has worked closely with a number of high profile boxers, in particular Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton, and was instrumental in establishing Hatton Promotions.  As CEO of Hatton Promotions, he helped sign a number of future world champions including Scott Quigg and Anthony Crolla, as well as contenders like Matthew Macklin and Martin Murray.  On leaving Hatton Promotions, Gareth set up his own law firm – GHW Solicitors LLP – with the Lancashire-based company now acting for Fight Academy and Fightzone.

“I have known Asif for many years and actually worked with him in the early days of Amir Khan’s career,” explained Williams.  “And I’ve known Dennis since he promoted Ricky Hatton.  I’ve always maintained a good relationship with both of them, both professionally and socially, and am looking forward to assisting them on all legal matters going forward. I’m extremely happy to be working with them again and looking forward to exciting times ahead.”

Chief Operating Officer at Fightzone, Asif Vali, stated: “With the expansion plans we have for the next 12 months, it’s crucial that Fightzone has the right team in place.  Gareth knows the boxing business inside-out and brings invaluable experience and knowledge that will be instrumental in helping the Fightzone platform realise its ambitions.”
