The Hamburg Universum Boxing stable will deploy heavy artillery at its next event on November 20th.

In addition to the Cuban José Larduet, who is defending his WBC latino title, Zhan Kossobutskiy also climbs into the ring.

The 32-year-old Kazakh is one of the top fighters in the premier class of boxing.

His opponent will be Alexis Garcia (31) from the Dominican Republic, who was successful in 11 professional fights, he won 7 by knockout.

For both of them it’s about a World Cup chance.

“Kossobutskiy was initially supposed to box at a major event abroad, but his possible opponents refused to play against him,” said Universum boss Ismail Özen-Otto on Monday. His protégé, who has won all of his 16 professional fights, 15 of them by knockout, is expected to make it into the top 5 of the WBA rankings.

So far, Kossobutskiy is ranked 10th. At the top is the superchampion from the Ukrainian Oleksandr Ussyk, followed by the regular world champion Trevor Bryan from the USA. The British ex-champion Anthony Joshua is now only in 5th place.

At the upcoming event there are a total of 5 heavyweight fights on the plan.

True to the motto of the event “RETURN OF THE HEAVYWEIGHTS”, great attention should also be paid to boxer Senad Gashi, who is making his debut in Bridgerweight, the newly created class of the WBC. The crowd favorite is considered one of the big contenders.

None other than the former Tokyo 2021 Olympic participant Mourad Aliev will also make his debut at Universum. This is also one of the bigger up-and-coming talents.
