Ring 10 names Dmitriy Salita ‘Promoter of the Year’ for 2021

Ring 10 Veterans Boxing Foundation of New York for naming him their “2021 Promoter of the Year.”

Salita, along with several other notable boxing dignitaries, will be honored at Ring 10’s Tenth Annual Fundraiser, to be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the world-famous Terrace On The Park banquet hall in Queens, New York City.

Established in 2010, Ring 10’s goal is to help retired boxers in need. Ring 10 is proudly stepping up and making a difference with assistance and contributions to all impoverished and/or ailing fighters (regardless of background or origin). A non-profit charity, every penny donated to Ring 10 finds its way to former fighters who fell on hard times after retiring from the ring and have no safety net.

Other 2021 fundraiser honorees will include hall-of-fame matchmaker Don Elbaum (SALDA Steve Acunto Lifetime Dedication Award); former welterweight contender Harold Weston (Jerry Quarry Top Contender Award); Referee Ricky Gonzalez (Wayne Kelly Referee Award); cutman Danny Milano (Ace Marotta Cutman Award); trainer Jerry Capobianco (Emanuel Steward Trainer Award); well-known judge Julie Lederman (Harold Lederman Award); WBO World Light Heavyweight Champion Joe Smith Jr. (Fighter of the Year Award); women’s superstar Amanda Serrano (Female Fighter of the Year Award); and manager Shelly Finkel (Jose Torres Renaissance man Award).

Scheduled for special guest appearances will be current and former champions such as Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, “Irish” Micky Ward, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, Marlon “Magic Man” Starling, Mark Breland, Michael Nunn, Carlos Ortiz, Michael Spinks, Cindy Serrano and many more. A silent auction will also be held. Ticket buyers to this very special celebration will also receive a buffet-style dinner, a meet-and-greet with all participants plus a top-shelf open bar throughout the event.

Since founding his Salita Promotions in 2010, Salita, a former world-class fighter, has quickly gained a reputation as an astute businessman with a keen eye for fighting talent. Salita Promotions sports an ever-growing promotional stable of fighters that include many of boxing’s best young prospects and established contenders around the world, none more prominent than women’s superstar Claressa Shields, who historically unified the female super middleweight division in 2021.

Salita events and fighters have already been featured on worldwide television networks including Showtime, HBO, ESPN, Spike TV, Fox, Universal Sports Network, UFC Fight Pass, DAZN, ESPN+ and MSG.
