Stanislav “Bull” Eschner had home-advantage, and was considered the A-side for a change, but it was not meant to be for the rugged Czech on Saturday night, July 10.
At the Clarion Congress Hotel in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, Slovakia´s Jozef Jurko prevailed to claim the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Light Heavyweight title.
Eschner had by far faced the better opposition coming in, and had fared well in losing efforts against some top names, but Jurko was undaunted and shocked the local crown by scoring a fifth round knockout.
The new UBO Champion, taking part in his first title fight, improved his professional record to 7-2 (5) after a career-best performance. Eschner drops to 14-16-1 (7).
On the undercard, former UBO Inter-Continental Featherweight Champion Martin Parlagi (26-5-1, 14 KOs) returned to winning ways with a decision over Nicaraguan Felix Garcia.
The show was promoted by former European and WBO World Champion Lukas Konecny.

River Center in Davenport, Iowa, USA – 14/8/21
20-year-old undefeated Chicago native Summer Lynn will face Brenda “Boom Boom” Gonzales for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female World Welterweight title on August 14.
The fight will headline a card promoted by Alien Boi Boxing and Calkins Sports Productions at the River Center in Davenport, Iowa.
Trained and managed by the respected Rick Ramos, Lynn (5-0, 3 KOs) fights out of the same camp as unified (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO) World Champion Jessica McCaskill.
A two-time junior national amateur champion, Lynn will be jumping in at the deep end on August 14, but she is clearly surrounded by people who knows what it takes to reach the top.
For Brenda Gonzalez (4-2, 1 KO) it will also be her first shot at a world title. One of her defeats came by decision to the aforementioned McCaskill, so she has proven she can compete at a high level.
Lynn has not had a chance to prove herself in the same way yet, but Gonzalez will undoubtedly provide her the opportunity to do so.
Its sink or swim-time for the young up-and-comer!

Boxen247.com Boxing News Ebenezer Lamptey, Ebenezer Lantei Lamptey, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Ebenezer “Hitman” Lantei Lamptey was 29-3 (22) when he fought Tommy Browne for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Welterweight title in August of 2018 in Australia.
The puncher from Ghana had won five straight before going “down under”, and was considered a dangerous foe for the accomplished Browne.
Lantei Lamptey turned pro at eighteen in 2004, and won his first twelve bouts, ten of them by stoppage, before experiencing his first set-back in 2009, losing a decision to compatriot George Ashie.
Ashie went on to win Ghana, Commonwealth, African Boxing Union (ABU) and WBO Africa titles, so there was certainly no shame in that defeat.
Over the course of the next two years, Lantei Lamptey won another eight fights on the trot, putting him in line for a shot at the vacant WBO Africa Super Lightweight title.
On February 25, 2012 in Accra, he emerged victorious by unanimous decision over Eduardo Flores from Ecuador (which we all know is an African country???).
Between that fight and May of 2014, it was a bit of a roller-coaster for him, as he went 3-2 in five outings, losing championship bouts to very good opponents in Chad Bennett and Betuel Ushona, both of whom have won versions of a world title.
After losing to Ushona in Namibia, he decided to move up to Super Welterweight and put together the aforementioned five-bout winning-streak to secure the UBO world title fight with Browne.
Unfortunately for Lantei Lamptey he was hurt early by Browne, and got stopped in the third round. He has not boxed since.

Boxen247.com Boxing Results Christian Rene Arenas, Giovannie Gonzalez, Gonzalez vs. Arenas 2, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico – 2/7/21
Giovannie “King Gio” Gonzalez is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Featherweight Champion after winning the vacant title on Friday night, July 2, at the Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico
From Stockton, California, 31-year-old Gonzalez beat local man Christian Rene Arenas by second round knockout, improving his misleading professional record to 11-6-1 (9).
This was a rematch of a December 2019 encounter, which Gonzalez won by sixth round stoppage after a competitive affair, but this time he appeared to be on a different level than his rival.
After a slow first round, where Gonzalez landed a couple of body-shots and Arenas, now 10-2 (5), was hesitant to engage, “King Gio” came out determined to make his mark in round two.
Arenas started to throw meaningful punches back, but Gonzalez landed a hard left to the body which clearly hurt Arenas, and then followed up with three more punches in the same area.
The fourth body-shot send Arenas down hard and unable to beat the count of referee Fernando Renteria.
A longer and more action-packed fight was expected, but Arenas looked out of his debt despite having plenty of time to prepare for the fight. Gonzalez was on top of his game though, and is clearly ready for tougher challenges.

Boxen247.com Boxing News Dilara Yucel, Hasan Kubilay Alcu, Kubilay Alcu, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
In Tirana, Albania – 24/7/21
Two undefeated Turkish prospects, Hassan Kubilay Alcu and Dilara Yucel, will be fast-tracked when they fight for Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) titles on Saturday July 24.
In Tirana, Albania, the two up-and-comers from Istanbul will take on opponents to be confirmed for vacant UBO European titles at Light Heavyweight and Super Welterweight respectively.
Kubilay Alcu (26) turned professional in November of last year, and has since put together four straight knockout victories, earning himself the demanding nickname “Mini Tyson”.
He has yet to go past two rounds, so it remains to be seen how he will cope with the championship distance if he doesn’t manage to dispatch of his opponent in the early rounds.
Still only seventeen, Dilara “She Wolf” Yucel is by some considered one of the most promising female Super Welterweights in the world.
A pro since last October, she is already 6-0 (5) and has her sights set on winning a world title as soon as possible.

Boxen247.com Women's Boxing BoxLady, Oezlem Sahin, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Germany´s Oezlem “BoxLady” Sahin had a fine 20-1-1 professional record when she won the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Minimumweight title in June of 2016, stopping Hungarian Agnes Draxler in two rounds.
In August of 2017 she retained the title with a unanimous decision over Sandy Coget from France, but before that she had already accomplished a lot in a pro career which began ten years earlier.
Turkish born Sahin started out as a kick-boxer, but began boxing in 2002 and was a part of the German national team before entering the paid ranks in 2007.
In 2011 she won her first world championship, when she defeated Romanian Corina Carlescu for the Interim WIBF Light Flyweight title. Corlescu would later become European champion.
In 2014 she stopped Thailand´s Thanya Tuyon to win the WIBF and GBU World Minimumweight titles, but lost them again the following year to Filipino Gretchen Abaniel by split decision.
Following a routine rebound win in early 2016 she won the UBO World title. In 2018 she attempted to add the IBF version to her resume, but came up short by close majority decision to Joana Pastrana in Spain.
But in March of 2019 Sahin became a three-time world champion, when she out-pointed former WBF champion Anne Sophie Da Costa to claim the vacant WIBA World Minimumweight crown and take her record to 25-2-1 (8).
Unfortunately that has so far been the last time she boxed, but only recently she expressed an interest in reclaiming the UBO world title she once held.

Universal Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) related news bits and information.
Former UBO International Super Welterweight ruler Hassan Mwakinyo (19-2, 13 KOs) from Tanzania won the African Boxing Union (ABU) title on May 28, stopping Antonio Maiala from Angola in the ninth round.
Mwakinyo is now scheduled to defend his new title on July 30 against former World Lightweight Champion Julius Indongo.
UBO Female World Super Lightweight Champion Alicia Melina Kummer (13-1, 8 KOs) is recovering from a leg-injury she suffered back in March, forcing her to call off a planned title-defense for this summer.
The Universal Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) wishes The Champ a healthy return.
Former UBO International Middleweight Champion Mohamed El Achi, a Belgian national based in France, is still going strong.
El Achi, who held the UBO title in 2015 and went on to also capture an IBF regional title, defeated journeyman Martin Owono by unanimous decision on June 19, improving his record to 16-3-3 (5).
UBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion Anthony de Bruijn (9-0-1, 6 KOs) is back in the gym, waiting on a date for his next fight.
Dutchman De Bruijn won the UBO title on May 28 in Dubai with a unanimous decision over tough Ghanaian Emmanuel Noi Mensah.

Istanbul, Turkey 14/7/21
Current Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion Serdar Avci (10-0, 10 KOs) is set to make a quick return to the ring.
The older brother of UBO Inter-Continental Super Welterweight titlist Arda Avci, Serdar won his UBO title last May, stopping undefeated Georgian Zaal Kvezereli in two rounds in Kiev, Ukraine.
But now he returns to his home-town of Istanbul, Turkey on July 14, and is in deep training at the famous 5th Street Gym in Miami, Florida.
In a time where it is more difficult than ever to secure opponents, the 35-year-old former amateur-standout will face Taryel Jafarov from Azerbaijan for the Interim UBO World Heavyweight title.
While his record may be modest, Jafarov (7-2, 6 KOs) was also an accomplished amateur and his two defeats in the paid ranks came to world class cruiserweight contender Olanrewaju Durodola and undefeated Russian Vladimir Ivanov.
The fight will headline a card promoted by Serdar Avci Promotions, and will feature local up-and-coming talent on a stacked undercard.

Boxen247.com Boxing Results Jimmy Williams, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization, Williams vs. Foreman, Yuri Foreman 0
Buckhead Fight Club in Atlanta, Georgia, USA 19/6/21
Jimmy Williams, from New Haven, Connecticut, is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Welterweight champion.
On Saturday night, June 19, at the Buckhead Fight Club in Atlanta, Georgia, he scored the most significant victory of his career when he defeated former WBA World Champion Yuri Foreman to lift the vacant title.
In a close and hard-fought battle, Williams secured victory with two knock-downs in the sixth round, earning a majority decision by scores of 77-73, 77-73 and 75-75.
The new champion improved his professional record to 18-5-2 (6), and also captured the vacant American Boxing Federation (ABF) USA title in the process.
For Foreman, now 35-4 (10), this was his second bout since returning to the ring after a three-year lay-off, and he was hoping that victory would put him a step closer to winning a second world title. Instead it could be the end of a fine pro career spanning almost twenty years.
The Williams vs. Foreman fight headlined a show billed “Underground Showdown”, and was streamed live world-wide on Pay-Per-View.

Clarion Congress Hotel in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic 10/7/21
Czech war-horse Stanislav Eschner is used to going into his opponents back-yard to fight, but on July 10 at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Usti nad Labem, about an hour from his home-town Prague, he will be the A-side for once.
On a card promoted by former European and WBO World Champion Lukas Konecny, Eschner (14-15-1, 7 KOs) will take on Slovakian Jozef Jurko (6-2, 4 KOs) for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Light Heavyweight title.
While his record may not look impressive, Eschner has faced a lot of good opponents since turning pro in 2016, eleven of them undefeated.
Most recently, last August, he came up short against current WBA & IBO World Champion Robin Krasniqi, but was only fourteen seconds away from going the full distance with the German.
Also a professional bare knuckle fighter, the 32-year-old nicknamed “Bull”, is a warrior through and through, and he will be looking to put on a spectacular performance in front of his home fans.
Eschner vs. Jurko will be the co-featured bout, along with a fight for the Czech Middleweight title between Viktor Agateljan and Tomas Bezvoda.

Boxen247.com Boxing News Raphael Zumbano, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization, Zumbano Love 0
In October of 2013, Brazilian Raphael Zumbano, AKA Zumbano Love, challenged for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Heavyweight title, losing on points to Fabrice Aurieng in France.
But that was only one of many big nights in the ring for Zumbano, who is a grandson of Brazil’s first ever boxing Olympian, Ralph Zumbano, and a cousin of arguably the best Bantamweight of all time Eder Jofre.
Between 2005 and 2019, he compiled a record of 39-17-1 (31), taking on all comers all over the world. Based in Las Vegas, he has fought in ten different countries.
Zumbano is a former Sao Paolo State champion, Brazil national champion, South America champion, WBA Fedebol champion, WBF International champion and IBF, WBO and WBC Latino champion.
Albeit in losing efforts, he has shared a ring with former or future world champions, Anthony Joshua, Shannon Briggs, Andy Ruiz and Charles Martin, and contenders Eric Molina, Otto Wallin, Alexander Ustinov and Filip Hrgovic.
He obviously didn’t reach the amateur highs of his grandfather, or achieve close to what his cousin achieved in the professional game, but Raphael Zumbano was, at his best, a good, solid heavyweight who did a lot with what he had.

Boxen247.com Boxing News Foreman vs. Williams, Jimmy Williams, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization, Yuri Foreman 0
Buckhead Fight Club in Atlanta, USA 19/6/21
Foreman was born in former Soviet Union country Belarus, and started boxing at seven years old. At nine he immigrated to Israel with his family, and won the national amateur championships of his new country three times.
In 1999, still only a teenager, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he continued to pursue his ambitions of turning professional while working in the garment district in Manhattan.
Training at the legendary Gleason´s Gym, he won the 2000 Golden Gloves, and eventually accomplished his goal of becoming a professional when he made his paid debut in January of 2002 after a 75-5 amateur career.
Over the next four years he compiled an unblemished 19-0 record, fighting on various promoters shows and defeating decent opposition.
Foreman was then signed up by one of the most influential promotional companies in the world, Top Rank, which is when things really took off for him.
He established himself as a top-contender with wins over Anthony Thompson (23-1), Andrey Tsurkan (25-2), Saul Roman (28-4) and James Moore (16-1), and in November of 2009 he reached the absolute top when he scored a wide decision over Daniel Santos (32-3-1) to become world champion.
Its been stop-start for the last ten years, but, an ordained Rabbi since 2014, Foreman is a man of faith, and he believes that if he defeats Williams and wins the UBO title, he is back on track to becoming world champion again.
The journey continues!

Boxen247.com Boxing News Christian Rene Arenas, Giovannie Gonzalez, Gonzalez vs. Arenas, King Gio, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico 2/7/21
(Vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Featherweight title)
He just might be the best 10-6-1 boxer in the world, and now Giovannie “King Gio” Gonzalez will get a chance to put an exclamation point behind the claim that the numbers do not do him justice.
On July 2 at the Big Punch Arena in Tijuana, Mexico, he will take on local man Christian Rene Arenas, in a rematch, for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Featherweight title.
A testament that he is focused on fulfilling the potential he clearly has, Gonzalez (31), from Stockton, California but of Mexican heritage, is coming down in weight after fighting as high as Super Lightweight previously and never shying away from a challenge even on short notice.
From his six losses, four has come against undefeated opponents, and the other two against fighters with only one defeat. In his most recent outing, last November, he came up short in an all-out war for a Lightweight title against 9-1-1 Jose Luis Roa.
Back in December of 2019, Gonzalez stopped Arenas (10-1, 5 KOs) in six rounds in another main event at the Big Punch Arena, and “Pipo” has been hungry for revenge ever since.
Fighting in his home-town will further inspire Arenas to even the score, but Gonzalez has left no stone unturned and, besides winning the UBO World title, wants to prove the result of their first fight was not a fluke.
Gonzalez vs. Arenas headlines a show promoted by King Gio Boxing Promotions.

Boxen247.com Boxing News Jake Giuriceo, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
As a boxer, when you reside in what has been called the boxing capital of the world, Youngstown, Ohio, you better be able to fight.
Comparisons to fellow townsmen Ray Mancini, Kelly Pavlik and Harry Arroyo, who all won world titles, are not fair, but former UBO All-America Lightweight Champion Jake Giuriceo, 20-6-1 (5), could definitely fight!
Turning pro in 2009, on the undercard of a Pavlik title-defense, Giuriceo went through the usual easy fights in the beginning.
But he also came through decent tests early on, beating Raymond Cain (1-0) and James Hope (4-1).
Earning the nickname, “The Bull”, with his entertaining style, he went on to defeat the likes of Roberto Lopez (4-0-2), Angel Hernandez (14-8), Winston Mathis (7-3) and Ramesis Gil (6-2-4) and became a local attraction in his own right.
By the fall of 2011 he was 13-0-1, and it was decided that he was ready to fight for his first title.
So on November 19 at the St. Lucy Hall in Campbell, a few miles outside Youngstown, he took on Bryne Green (7-4-1) for the vacant UBO All-America Lightweight crown.
In front of a near sell-out crowd, Giuriceo boxed well against the game Green, finishing with a strong tenth round to secure victory by scores of 97-93, 99-91 and 96-94.
Giuriceo also won his next two fights, but then dropped a close decision to fringe contender Michael Clark (42-7-1).
That was followed by a shock loss to Peter Olouch (11-6-2), before Giuriceo rebounded with a win in the summer of 2014.
He then lost three in a row, to world class operators Viktor Postol (26-0), Alex Saucedo (17-0) and Egidijus Kavaliauskas (9-0), before winning three, including a decision over 12-0 Jose Abreu, to secure himself another big assignment.
That came in May of 2017 against future world champion Jose Carlos Ramirez. Unfortunately for Giuriceo it was a step too far, as he was stopped in the second round of what turned out to be his final fight.

Boxen247.com Boxing News Buckhead Fightclub, Foreman vs. Williams, Jimmy Williams, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization, Yuri Foreman 0
Buckhead Fightclub, Atlanta 19/6/21
Former WBA World Champion Yuri Foreman (35-3, 10 KOs) is set to fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Welterweight title on June 19 in Atlanta.
At the Buckhead Fightclub, Foreman will take on Jimmy “Quiet Storm” Williams (17-5-2, 6 KOs) in the main event of a show labelled “Underground Showdown”.
A pro since 2002, Foreman (40) won the WBA World Super Welterweight title by defeating Daniel Santos in one of the co-featured bouts of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto card in Las Vegas in November of 2009.
He lost the title to Cotto, a Puerto Rican icon, the following year, when an injured right knee played a major part in him getting stopped in nine rounds, after a brave effort in front of over twenty thousand fans at Yankee Stadium in New York.
In 2017 Foreman, an Israeli national born in Belarus and based in Brooklyn, New York since 1999, came up short against WBA and IBO World Champion Erislandy Lara, and it appeared that his chance to regain former glory had come and gone.
But, feeling rejuvenated, he started his comeback in December of last year with a decision victory over journeyman Jeremy Ramos in Louisville, and he continues to pave the way towards becoming a two-time world champion should he defeat Williams on June 19 and capture the UBO International title.
For Williams (34), a former WBC regional titlist, this is a big opportunity to not only win another belt, but also to make a name for himself by defeating the accomplished Foreman. He too is coming off a victory, so enters the fight full of confidence that he can derail the comeback train.
Tickets for the Foreman vs. Williams UBO title fight are available HERE.

Boxen247.com Boxing Results Anthony de Bruin, de Bruijn vs. Noi Mensah, Emmanuel Noi Mensah, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Conrad Hotel in Dubai, U.A.E.
Undefeated Dutchman Anthony de Bruin captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Lightweight title on Friday afternoon, May 28, at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai, U.A.E.
Based in Dubai, 27-year-old de Bruijn scored a unanimous decision over the very game Emmanuel Noi Mensah from Ghana in what was a well-matched and entertaining encounter.
The fight was high-paced from the first bell, and most rounds were closely contested. De Bruijn usually started best, while Noi Mensah came on strong in the final minute.
De Bruijn was clearly the more active of the two, but Noi Mensah was very slippery and hard to catch clean. In spots, the Ghanaian was dangerous with counters, especially when forced against the ropes.
Scores were 79-73-79-73 and 80-72, but did not do the closeness of the fight, and effort from Noi Mensah, justice.
Following what was his third fight so far in 2021, de Bruijn is now 9-0-1 (6). Much better than his record suggests, Mensah travels back to Accra at 8-7 (6).
The fight was promoted by Core Sports in association with Round 10 Boxing and MTK Global.

Boxen247.com Boxing News UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Not just another boxing sanctioning body…
The Universal Boxing Organization™ was founded in 2004, and currently has offices in Germany, USA, and Tanzania.
With title fights in places such as China, Argentina, France, USA, Germany, Ecuador, Bolivia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Egypt, Finland, Tanzania, Fiji, Kenya, Uganda, Slovakia, Serbia, Vanuatu, Denmark, Poland, South Korea, Russia, Sweden, Algeria, Hong Kong, Canada, Bulgaria, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uruguay, Trinidad, Hungary, Brazil, Latvia and Georgia, the UBO has truly developed into a global sanctioning body.
They of course want to present the best boxers possible as our world champions, but they also feel great pride and satisfaction when seeing lesser-known boxers achieve their goal of winning a title, and when smaller promoters are able to arrange championship fights as a result of their cooperation.
However, you will not see any UBO Super World Champions, Silver World Champions, Global Champions, Diamond Champions etc.
Like a work in progress, they continuously try to develop and work diligently with boxing personalities around the world in order to improve where they can.
The Universal Boxing Organization™ is dedicated to:
– Give equal opportunity to all.
– Cooperate with local boxing commissions in order to enhance safety for boxers.
– Recognize the best boxers possible as our champions.
– Help the growth of the sport of boxing.
– Improve, and help others improve for the sake of the sport.
– The Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) is registered with and approved by:

Boxen247.com Boxing News Echevarria vs. Reyes, Noel Echevarria, Rafael Reyes, The Holy Fire, UBO, Universal Boxing Organization 0
Jonesboro, Georgia 5/6/21
Resurrected Lightweight contender Noel “The Holy Fire” Echevarria will look to continue his rise when he fights for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International title on June 5 in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Echevarria, 17-7 (11) and the reigning American Boxing Federation (ABF) champion, will face rugged Mexican former World Boxing Federation (WBF) International titlist Rafael Reyes, 18-11 (14).
Born in Puerto Rico but now fighting out of Kernersville, North Carolina, Echevarria got off to a great start to his career, turning pro after winning the 2010 Junior Olympics and winning his first eleven paid fights.
Unfortunately his personal life was in turmoil, and he subsequently got involved with drugs, which naturally affected his boxing career.
He lost six fights in a row between 2013 and 2015, and it looked as if it was not meant to be for him. He didn’t fight again until making a comeback in 2018.
It should be noted that he only lost to very good opponents, including world champions in the making Tevin Farmer and Oscar Valdez, and Echevarria had plenty to offer when he returned to the ring.
A very religious person, he is clean, rededicated, determined and on a mission!
Since coming back, the southpaw family-man has won six of seven outings, five of them inside the distance, and picked up three titles in the process.
Still only thirty years old, he has time to win many more, and he will be going all out to make the UBO International belt his fourth.
